What's special about "Interactive" entertainment, and what exactly is it?

"Interactive" entertainment is not just someone playing music all night - it's a whole other level of entertainment and fun.

An interactive evening begins with setting a fun mood with the right wedding party introduction - something exciting and entertaining for your guests to watch; certainly not the "same old."  The fun continues with a kissing game run by your entertainment service.  Be it music trivia, Bride & Groom trivia challenge, or just about anything else we can dream up, your guests are involved and having a great time all through dinner.

Most services drop request cards on your tables and hope they get turned in before the dancing starts.  Instead, we approach each table individually during dinner and introduce ourselves one-on-one to your guests.  We ask about requests, giving your guests a chance to become comfortable with us, and to talk about what music they'd like to hear.

The evening starts with your traditional dances, and continues with great music.  Not enough people dancing yet?  This is an interactive entertainer's specialty.  "Hot starts" are something we use to get nearly all of your guests up on the dance floor dancing right away, and we're not talking about annoying snowball dances - your guests won't see this coming, and they're having a great time before they can ask what just happened.

And then?  Nothing keeps a crowd jumping like an interactive dance.  We're not talking about the Macarena or YMCA (although we do have a special YMCA version we use from time to time).  Your guests will love following the entertainer's lead to dances like "Get Down Tonight," "Dollar Wine," "Stayin' Alive," "We Like to Party," "Blame it on the Boogie," and many more.

What does an "Interactive" entertainment service do at a wedding?

  • Entertains your guests, getting them involved in dances, activities and fun games to encourage dancing and a great party.
  • Acts as a catalyst for your party, and coordinates the fun.
  • Interacts with your guests, staging group dances where everyone can participate, learn something new and have a great time.
  • Starts the dancing and fun with games and activities that get all of your guests on the dance floor having fun right away, not well into the evening.
  • Is accessible to you and your guests - doesn't hide behind a table and sound system control panel all evening.
  • Introduces themselves to your guests at every possible opportunity to personally ask about music preferences and establish a rapport so guests are comfortable making requests.
  • Incorporates tasteful props and party favours into the dancing.  Your guests get them for free, and they make much better reception pictures!

An "Interactive" entertainment service does not...

  • Insult, tease, make fun of, or embarrass any of your guests.
  • Attempt to become the center of attention at your wedding.
  • Wear ridiculous outfits, hats or play "air guitar" on anything inflatable.
  • Perform for your guests such that they stop and watch the person performing instead of having fun.
  • Interrupt a good time with an untimely dance or anything unwelcome.

Interactive-specific options:

Now that you know about Interactive parties, here are some options for you to consider...

  • A disc jockey and an Interactive Entertainer.  Consider a great two-person team.  A disc jockey operates the sound and lighting equipment, leaving the outgoing and energetic entertainer to focus on your guests and arranging a fun evening.
  • Single person service.  Having one person entertaining means your entertainer will stay closer to the sound equipment and coordinate the activities, dances, etc, from there (we'll need to be close to hit "play!").
  • Prop and Party Favour Packs.  Everything from plastic lei's, themed giveaway hats, and glowing stuff (necklaces, bracelets, etc) is available in convenient, pre-arranged party packs.  We'll be happy to bring your choice of party pack with us and delight your guests with free stuff as they dance and have a great time.
