Rotary Club of Dunnville's 2002 Mud-Duck Race Parade Float.

I was thrilled at the idea of rigging up a sound system aboard the Rotary Club of Dunnville's float for the June 2002 Mudcat Festival parade.

If you were wondering, yes the signs say "DJ Rob" - I should have had newer signs made!

The float advertised tickets for their charity-benefit race where 5000 numbered plastic ducks get dumped just before the falls, in the upper section of Dunnville's Grand River, in a fast-paced race for the finish line.

As you can see, the Rotary Club was kind enough to let me show off a bit with a couple of signs. ;)

Do you see a generator yet?  You'd think there would be a big one to run a 2,400 watt sound system...

The speakers you see here are my second system, consisting of 4 full-range cabinets with a horn tweeter, midrange, and 15" woofer, rated at 600 watts each.  With two on each side of the float, parade goers heard a special selection of duck-theme music loud and clear.  Did I mention that we were the only sound-equipped float in the parade that didn't use a generator?

I'd like to thank Watertite Roofing, and their truck for providing the power for the sound equipment. (of course we used a few special power components, but I can't give up all my secrets...)

Too bad I only took pictures of the float before the parade, it would have been nice to show you images of people dancing on either side of the street as the rig rolled up with duck music playing!

If you have an event, I've got a system for it!  Charitable organizations are welcome to inquire about mobile (or in this case, very mobile) entertainment services.
